Anti Vibration Processing - Nytemp

Nytemp is the most advanced high temperature anti-vibration and locking patch. The orange patch has been developed to meet the military and NASA's need for a locking element that would meet their toughest standards and deliver world-class performance in temperatures up to 450°F. Orange-colored Nytemp is the most advanced high-temperature self-locking patch material available in the fastener industry.

Nytemp frees designers from the 250°F maximum of traditional materials and allows them to use self-locking fasteners with multiple cycle reuse capabilities in areas never before possible. It's compatible with aerospace and defense fastener alloys such as A286, INCO®718 and CRES300 series.

  • Torque and clamp load stability up to 450° F (232° C), more than any other patch material available today
  • 180° (std) or 360° (optional) radial coverage
  • Features the industry's highest reusability: >5 cycles
  • Can be tailored to your application

Industry Approvals

Our Nytemp product is approved to a wide range of standards including the following government and industry specifications :-

  • MIL-DTL-18240 REV. F - exceeds temperature and torque requirements
  • QPL-18240 - can replace PET materials
  • IFI-124 - exceeds torque requirements
  • IFI-524 - exceeds torque requirements
  • NASA SP-R-0022A - meets low outgassing TML=.02% VCM=.0% WVR=.02%
  • IFI-100/107 - exceeds torque requirements

Product Guide

We currently process a range of Headed Components, Studs, Plugs and similar size parts.
We can apply our coating to ferrous or non-ferrous materials (Steel, Aluminium, Stainless Steel or Brass).
We offer a complete Plate and Patch service.
This is a general guide to the products we currently process. We are able to process other components subject to evaluation.

A. The Nytemp process consists of fusing the orange material onto a defined area of the male thread surface.
B. Upon installation into the female threaded component, the nytemp material is compressed filling the axial tolerances
between the threads (1).
C. The nytemp process creates a strong metal-to-metal radial loading on the flanks of the
mating thread forms (2), which provides the locking action.

Recommendations

Hole Preparation
In all cases the female thread of the mating components should have the lead thread de-burred or countersunk to avoid damage to the patch material.
Thread Preparation
To obtain optimum patch performance both male and female threads should be in accordance with class 6g/h (metric) or class 2 a/b (unified).
Finishes
Tuflok can be applied to most popular plated finishes, as well as polymer and organic coatings. .
Customer free issue components
Parts manufactured from non-ferrous material should be supplied free from any surface contaminants. Variations in material structure can effect heating capability of the part during processing, which may result in torque variation. High installation speeds can create galling of the threads affecting product performance.
Samples
Pre-production samples are evaluated and then processed free of charge
