Scotchgrip is a 2 part epoxy resin which is pre-applied to the male thread-form to give a dry to touch adhesive coating. Upon assembly the adhesive creates a bond between the male and female threads which significantly increases the breakloose torque. Within the 2 part epoxy system, the liquid resin is microencapsulated and the hardeners are carried within the coating material.
Scotchgrip 2510 has been developed to work at high teamperatures upto 200 degrees C. providing full cure at 72 hours cure with ambient temperature. The product offers low co-efficient of friction and is unaffected by most oils and commercial solvents.
Industry Approvals
Our adhesive product is approved to a wide range of industry standards
including:- BS 7795:1995, GM 6175M, Ford WX200 & WX201,
Rover RES.22.FP.01. Plus many other industry approvals.
Product Guide
We currently process a range of Headed Components, Studs, Plugs and similar size parts.
We can apply our coating to ferrous or non-ferrous materials (Steel, Aluminium, Stainless Steel or Brass).
We offer a complete Plate and Patch service.
This is a general guide to the products we currently process. We are able to process other components subject to evaluation.
Re-usability of micro-encapsulated adhesives is
not recommended.

A. The Pre-applied process consists of
applying the micro-encapsulated adhesive
onto a defined area of the male thread surface.
B. The adhesive coating is inert, dry to touch,
ready to use.
C. Upon assembly into the mating
threaded component the micro-capsules
rupture, developing a secure locking of
the 2 components with a high strength
adhesive bond.
